If you are at risk of redundancy, or simply think you may be at risk, please try not to panic. We are here to help. As a member of AMiE you can receive confidential advice from our helpline or your regional officer. You can also download our advice and information leaflets that explain some of the practical and legal issues (see opposite)
Here are some of the ways we can help:
- Outline what you can expect to happen
- Explain your rights
- Discuss the options that may be available to you (e.g. voluntary redundancy)
- Arrange to accompany you to any consultation meeting
- Raise enquiries on your behalf and negotiate with the college
- Check redundancy calculations
- Provide the legal advice required for signing compromise agreements
- Represent you in any appeal against redundancy selection
